CONTESSA DI CASTIGLIONE BARBERA D’ASTI DOCG
The vinous and intense bouquet introduces pleasant fruity scents, echoed by floral notes. On the palate a tannic, round and soft flavor is perceived. It is a wine that lends itself to refinement in the bottle for a maximum of about 3 years and tasted on every occasion.
Food pairings: perfect with typical Italian pasta and rice dishes Also pairs well with roasted red meat, braised meat with wine and white meat. Barbera d'Asti is ideal also in summer with fish soups, fresh cheese and vegetables.

Tasting notes
Harvest: late September. Crushing of the grapes, taking away the wood from the clusters, and fermentation, in big containers with skins and selected yeasts, at controlled temperature, till the transformation of the natural sugars of the grapes. Decantation of the skins and storage in suitable containers to guarantee a perfect maturation of the wine. Starting from spring, after filtration, bottling at cellar temperature.
Recommended consumption within 3 years; however, some good vintages guarantee a perfect ageing till 5-6 years.
